The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 And shade extended 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
