The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And clustered plantains, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virginal, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 for those on the Right, 38
