The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 and extended shade, 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
