The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In gardens of delight; 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and serried acacias, 29 And spreading shade, 30 and flowing water 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 for the people of the right hand 38
