The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 The reward for what they did. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And clustered plantains, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 and flowing water 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And raised couches. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins. 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 for the Companions of the Right 38

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
