The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 And extended shade, 30 near to flowing water 31 and fruit abounding, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And have made them virgins. 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For those on the right. 38
