The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 And water poured out 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And carpets raised. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For those on the right hand; 38

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
