The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 Who will be honoured 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 a host of the ancients 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 On lined couches, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And clustered plantains, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 near to flowing water 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For those on the right hand; 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
