The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 Who will be honoured 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 and banana trees, 29 and spreading shade 30 And water gushing, 31 And fruit in plenty 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And carpets raised. 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 And made them virgins. 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
