Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A crowd of earlier generations 39 And a crowd of the later. 40 BUT AS FOR those who have persevered in evil - what of those who have persevered in evil? 41 mid burning winds and boiling waters 42 And in the shades of Black Smoke: 43 neither cold nor graceful in shape. 44 They were endowed with good things 45 And they used to persist in the great violation, 46 And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 47 Will our ancient forefathers be resurrected too? 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all – the former and the latter.” 49 Will be gathered together on a certain day which is predetermined. 50 Then you people who had gone astray and rejected the Truth 51 you shall eat (the fruit) of the Tree of Zakkum. 52 And filling with it your bellies 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 Such shall be your hospitality on the Day of Recompense. 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 Have ye seen that which ye emit? 58 Do you create it, or We are its creator? 59 It is We who have ordained death for all of you; and We cannot be prevented 60 from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. 61 And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Is it you who cause them to grow or do We? 64 If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder, 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder? 69 If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)? 70 And have you seen the fire that you ignite? 71 Did you make its timber to grow, or did We make it? 72 We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers, 73 Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 74
