▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 And a multitude of those of later time. 40 BUT AS FOR those who have persevered in evil - what of those who have persevered in evil? 41 [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water 42 and the shadow of a smoking blaze 43 neither cool nor good. 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 But persisted in that greater sin, 46 They used to say: “What! Once we are dead and are reduced to dust and bones, shall we still be raised to a new life from the dead? 47 And also our forefathers? 48 Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times, 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 "Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! 51 Will eat of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 and you shall fill therewith your bellies 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 Drinkers even as the drinking of thirsty camels. 55 Such will be their welcome on the Day of Judgement. 56 We have created you, then why would you not confirm it? 57 Have you seen sperm? 58 Do you create a child out of it, or are We its creators? 59 It was We who decreed death among you. We will not be surpassed 60 that We may exchange the likes of you, and make you to grow again in a fashion you know not. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. 63 Is it you who cultivate it, or is it We Who develop it? 64 If We so pleased, We could turn your harvest into chaff. Then you would start lamenting, 65 “We have been penalised; 66 nay, we have been robbed!' 67 Have you considered the water you drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders? 69 If We had so pleased, We could have made it bitter. So why would you not give thanks? 70 Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out; 71 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower? 72 We have made it as a reminder and convenience for the needy. 73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
