Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 And a crowd of the later. 40 And those on the left hand: What of those on the left hand? 41 They will live amid the scorching, 42 And in the shadow of a burning smoke. 43 which will neither be cool nor soothing. 44 Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence, 45 And used to persist in the awful sin. 46 And they were wont to say: when we have died and become dust and bones, shall we, then, verily be raised? 47 We and our fathers of old? 48 Tell them, (O Prophet): “The earlier ones and the later ones 49 "They will all be gathered together - on the appointed time of the known day." 50 Then you went astray, you that belied, 51 will eat from the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 Then will fill your bellies with it. 53 and drink on top of that boiling water 54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 55 Such will be their dwelling on the Day of Judgment. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Just consider the semen that you emit, 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We have decreed among you Death; We shall not be outstripped; 60 from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. 61 You are well aware of the first creation; then, do you learn no lesson from it? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Is it you who cultivate it, or is it We Who develop it? 64 If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would ye cease not to exclaim: 65 Surely we are burdened with debt: 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 Have you considered the water you drink? 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds or is it We Who brought it down? 69 If We pleased, We would have made it salty; why do you not then give thanks? 70 So what is your opinion regarding the fire which you kindle? 71 Did you make its tree grow or was it We Who made it grow? 72 We! it is We Who made it a reminder and a provision unto the campers. 73 So glorify your Lord, the most supreme. 74
