A numerous company from among the first, 39 and a multitude of the later people. 40 And the fellows on the left hand; how miserable shall the fellows on the left hand be! 41 In hot wind and boiling water, 42 in the shadow of a smoking blaze, 43 [shadows] neither cooling nor soothing. 44 Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence, 45 and would persist in heinous sinning, 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say: "Verily, those of olden times and those of later times 49 shall be gathered to the appointed time of a known day. 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers – 51 "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. 52 And fill (your) bellies with it; 53 And drink over it scalding water, 54 drinking it as thirsty camels do.” 55 Such will be their dwelling on the Day of Judgment. 56 It is He who created you, then why do you not affirm the truth? 57 Have you thought about [the semen] that you discharge -- 58 Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators? 59 We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, 60 In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know. 61 You are well aware of the first creation; then, do you learn no lesson from it? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Is it you that cause it to grow, or are We the causers of growth? 64 If We pleased, We should have certainly made it broken down into pieces, then would you begin to lament: 65 Lo! we are laden with debt! 66 "Nay, but we are deprived!" 67 Have you thought about the water you drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds or We? 69 Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks? 70 Have you thought about the fire you kindle? 71 Is it you that originated its tree, or are We the Originator? 72 We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers, 73 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty. 74
