A numerous company from among the first, 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 But those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) those of the left hand -- 41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 42 scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, 43 neither cold nor graceful in shape. 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 And were stubborn upon the great sin (of disbelief). 46 It was they who said, "Shall we be resurrected after we die and have turned into dust and bones? 47 "(We) and our fathers of old?" 48 Tell them, (O Prophet): “The earlier ones and the later ones 49 “They will all be gathered together – on the appointed time of the known day.” 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers – 51 shall eat the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 You shall fill your bellies with it, 53 And drinking on top of it from scalding water 54 drinking it as thirsty camels do.” 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Judgement. 56 We created you; therefore why will you not believe? 57 Have you ever considered that [seed] which you emit? 58 Do you create a child out of it, or are We its creators? 59 We! it is We Who have decreed death unto you all. And We are not to be outrun. 60 from replacing you by others like yourselves or changing your forms and re-creating you in forms that you know nothing of. 61 You are well aware of the first creation; then, do you learn no lesson from it? 62 So what is your opinion regarding what you sow? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 We could turn it, if We pleased, into straw; then you would rue the day, 65 [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; 66 Nay, but we are deprived! 67 Have you considered the water which you drink? 68 Do you send it down from the clouds, or We send it down? 69 If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful? 70 Have you considered the fire you kindle? 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. 73 (Muhammad), glorify your Lord, the Great One. 74
