▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A throng of the ancients 39 And a crowd of the later. 40 As for the Companions of the Left 41 (They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water, 42 And in the shadow of a burning smoke. 43 neither cold nor graceful in shape. 44 Indeed they were among favours before this. 45 and they persisted obstinately in awful sin, 46 And said: "What! When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised again? 47 Or our fathers of yore? 48 Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times, 49 will indeed be gathered together at an appointed time on a Day known [only to God]: 50 "Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! 51 you will indeed have to taste of the tree of deadly fruit, 52 "Then will ye fill your insides therewith, 53 and on top of this you will drink boiling water 54 drink it as the most insatiably thirsty camels drink!" 55 Such will be their welcome on Judgment Day! 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 Have you thought about [the semen] that you discharge -- 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated 60 Had We so wished, nothing could have hindered Us from replacing you by others like yourselves, or transforming you into beings you know nothing about. 61 And [since] you are indeed aware of the [miracle of your] coming into being in the first instance - why, then, do you not bethink yourselves [of Us]? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 Is it you who cultivate it, or is it We Who develop it? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 Surely we are burdened with debt: 66 nay, we are deprived [altogether]." 67 Have you thought about the water you drink? 68 Is it you who cause it to come down from the clouds - or are We the cause of its coming down? 69 Had We wanted, We could have made it salty. Why then do you not give thanks? 70 So what is your opinion regarding the fire which you kindle? 71 Produce ye the tree thereof, or are We the Producer? 72 We have made it as a reminder and convenience for the needy. 73 Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
