A crowd of earlier generations 39 and many from the later generations. 40 As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! 41 (They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water, 42 And in the shades of Black Smoke: 43 neither cool nor refreshing. 44 They were endowed with good things 45 and persisted in heinous sins. 46 and constantly said: 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we then be restored to life? 47 "(We) and our fathers of old?" 48 Say, "Indeed, the earlier ones and the later ones 49 will indeed be gathered together at a fixed time on an appointed Day. 50 Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, 51 "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. 52 and will have to fill your bellies therewith, 53 And drinking on top of it from scalding water 54 Drinking the way thirsty camels drink. 55 This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment. 56 We! it is We Who created you: wherefore confess ye not? 57 Have you thought about what (sperm) you ejaculate? 58 Create him ye, or are We the Creator? 59 We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, 60 In order that We may bring in your place the likes of you and make you grow into what you know not. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 Ponder upon the soil you till, 63 Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment, 65 Verily we are undone. 66 Rather, we have been deprived." 67 See ye the water which ye drink? 68 Is it you who cause it to come down from the clouds - or are We the cause of its coming down? 69 If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks? 70 So what is your opinion regarding the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers, 73 Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 74
