These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 and also a large throng from those of later times. 40 As for the Companions of the Left 41 (They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water, 42 And the shade of black smoke, 43 neither cold nor graceful in shape. 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 But persisted in that greater sin, 46 They used to say: “What! Once we are dead and are reduced to dust and bones, shall we still be raised to a new life from the dead? 47 And our forefathers [as well]?" 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all – the former and the latter.” 49 Will be gathered together on a certain day which is predetermined. 50 Then you, the erring and the deniers, 51 Most surely eat of a tree of Zaqqoom, 52 and will have to fill your bellies therewith, 53 And upon it, you will drink the hot boiling water. 54 drink it as the most insatiably thirsty camels drink!" 55 That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. 56 We created you; therefore why will you not believe? 57 Have you considered the seed? 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 We have ordained death among you and We are not to be overcome, 60 That We may substitute others like unto you and produce you into that which ye know not. 61 And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect? 62 Have you seen what you sow? 63 Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). 65 Verily we are undone. 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 Have ye observed the water which ye drink? 68 Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 Consider the fire that you strike (and get by friction). 71 Did you make its timber to grow, or did We make it? 72 We! it is We Who made it a reminder and a provision unto the campers. 73 So glorify your Lord, the most supreme. 74
