a large throng from the ancients, 39 and a throng of the later folk. 40 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? 41 [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water 42 and a shade of thick, pitch-black smoke, 43 (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 And they have been persisting in the heinous offence. 46 And they used to say, “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we surely be raised again?” 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 49 "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. 50 Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie! 51 you shall eat of a tree called Zakkoum, 52 Fill your bellies with it, 53 And upon it, you will drink the hot boiling water. 54 drink it as the most insatiably thirsty camels drink!" 55 This is their reception on the Day of Justice. 56 It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth? 57 Have you ever considered that [seed] which you emit? 58 Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator? 59 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, 60 that We may exchange the likes of you, and make you to grow again in a fashion you know not. 61 And you have indeed learnt about the first creation, so why do you not ponder? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Do you yourselves sow it, or are We the Sowers? 64 If We will, We would make it broken stubble and you would remain wondering, 65 "We are ruined, 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 Have you considered the water that you drink? 68 Do you send it down from the clouds, or We send it down? 69 If We will, We would make it bitter, why then do you not give thanks? 70 So what is your opinion regarding the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 We have made it as a reminder of hell and as a utility for travellers in the jungle. 73 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme. 74

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
