A throng of the ancients 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 As for the People on the Left: how miserable will be the People on the Left! 41 In hot wind and boiling water, 42 And in the shades of Black Smoke: 43 Neither cool nor beneficial. 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 and would persist in heinous sinning, 46 And they used to say, “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we surely be raised again?” 47 And our forefathers [as well]?" 48 Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Lo! those of old and those of later time 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 Then you, the erring ones and those that gave the lie to the Truth, 51 will eat from the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, 53 And thereon ye will drink of boiling water, 54 drinking it as thirsty camels do.” 55 This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment. 56 We have created you, then why would you not confirm it? 57 Have you considered the seed you spill? 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 It was We who decreed death among you. We will not be surpassed 60 In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know. 61 And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 We could turn it, if We pleased, into straw; then you would rue the day, 65 Surely we are burdened with debt: 66 Rather, we have been deprived." 67 Have ye observed the water which ye drink? 68 Do you send it down from the clouds, or We send it down? 69 If We will, We would make it bitter, why then do you not give thanks? 70 Did you consider the fire which you kindle? 71 Did you produce the tree that serves as fuel or do We? 72 We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. 73 Glorify, then, (O Prophet), the name of your Great Lord. 74

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
