▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ NAY, I call to witness the coming-down in parts [of this Qur'an] 75 - which is indeed a great oath if only you knew it - 76 that this is an honorable Quran 77 (Inscribed) in the well-kept Book. 78 Only they can reach it who are clean (of mind). 79 (This Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 80 How can you regard this discourse with disdain? 81 And make denial thereof your livelihood? 82 Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,- 83 And you are at that time looking on - 84 And We are nigher unto him than ye are, but ye behold not 85 So why is it not, that if you are not to be repaid, – 86 Bring it back, if you should be truthful? 87 (If a dying soul) is of those near to God, 88 then happiness and delight and Gardens of Bliss are his. 89 And if he was of the companions of the right, 90 Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for (you as you are from) those on the Right Hand. 91 But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism), 92 there shall be a hospitality of boiling water, 93 And a hurling into the blazing fire. 94 This is indeed the indubitable truth. 95 So glorify the name of your Great Lord. 96
