▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ NAY, I call to witness the coming-down in parts [of this Qur'an] 75 And lo! that verily is a tremendous oath, if ye but knew - 76 Most surely it is an honored Quran, 77 inscribed in a well-guarded Book, 78 no one can touch it except the purified ones. 79 It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Is it this discourse that ye hold lightly? 81 And make it your provision that ye should belie it? 82 Why, but when the soul leaps to the throat of the dying 83 right before your very eyes? 84 – at that moment when We are closer to him than you, although you do not see (Us) 85 If you are true to your claim that there is no Day of Judgment, 86 Can you not bring him back? (Answer) if you are truthful 87 If he is among the near 88 there shall be repose and ease, and a Garden of Delight; 89 And if he be of the fellows on the right hand, 90 Then upon you is the greetings of peace (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), from those on the right. 91 But, if he is of those who belied, and went astray, 92 Then an entertainment of boiling water. 93 and the roasting in Hell. 94 Lo! this is certain truth. 95 Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 96
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
