▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Nay, I swear by the places of the stars - 75 and that is a mighty oath, if you but knew 76 That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable, 77 In a Register well-protected; 78 which none but the pure may touch; 79 [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 What, do you hold this discourse in disdain, 81 And you make its denial your share? 82 Why, then, when the soul of the dying man reaches the throat, 83 And you at that time look on-- 84 And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see - 85 Then why do ye not,- If you are exempt from (future) account,- 86 do you not bring back his soul, if you speak truly? 87 If he is among the near 88 happiness [awaits him in the life to come,] and inner fulfillment, and a garden of bliss. 89 and if he is of those who are on the Right, 90 There will be the salutation by those of the right hand: "Peace on you. 91 But if he be of them that cried lies, and went astray, 92 Then the welcome will be boiling water 93 And roasting at hell-fire. 94 This is indeed the indubitable truth. 95 Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. 96
True are the words of God the Almighty.
