Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ But nay! I swear by the falling of stars; 75 And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew,- 76 That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable, 77 In Book well-guarded, 78 Which none toucheth save the purified, 79 It is a revelation sent down from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Do you then hold this announcement in contempt? 81 And to give (it) the lie you make your means of subsistence. 82 So why was it not, when the soul reaches up to the throat, – 83 and that hour you are watching 84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] 85 why, then, if [you think that] you are not truly dependent [on Us,] 86 do you not bring back his soul, if you speak truly? 87 Then if he be of the broughtnigh. 88 There will be peace and plenty, and gardens of tranquility for him. 89 And if he be of the fellows on the right hand, 90 (For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand. 91 And if he is one of the rejecters, the erring ones, 92 Then the welcome will be boiling water 93 and the heat of hell fire. 94 Lo! this is certain truth. 95 So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 96

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
