Say: 'People of the Book, let us come to a common word between us and you that we will worship none except Allah, that we will associate none with Him, and that none of us take others for lords besides Allah' If they turn away, say: 'Bear witness that we are Muslims' 64 People of the Book, why do you dispute about Abraham when the Torah and Gospel were only sent down after him. Do you not use your reason? 65 You even argue about what is already known to you. What can you learn from arguing about that which you have no knowledge? God knows but you do not know." 66 No; Abraham in truth was not a Jew, neither a Christian; but he was a Muslim and one pure of faith; certainly he was never of the idolaters. 67 Most surely the nearest of people to Ibrahim are those who followed him and this Prophet and those who believe and Allah is the guardian of the believers. 68 A group among the People of the Book would love to mislead you but they mislead no one but themselves. However, they do not realize it. 69 O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while you witness [to their truth]? 70 Ye People of the Book! Why do ye clothe Truth with falsehood, and conceal the Truth, while ye have knowledge? 71
