(Muhammad), say to the People of the Book, "We must come to a common term. Let us worship no one except God, nor consider anything equal to Him, nor regard any of us as our Lord besides God." However, if they turn away from (the Truth), tell them, "Bear witness that we have submitted ourselves to the will of God." 64 Ye People of the Book! Why dispute ye about Abraham, when the Law and the Gospel Were not revealed Till after him? Have ye no understanding? 65 Here you are - those who have argued about that of which you have [some] knowledge, but why do you argue about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows, while you know not. 66 Neither was Abraham a Jew nor a Christian, but upright and obedient, and not an idolater. 67 The nearest people to Abraham, among mankind, are those who followed him, this Prophet (Muhammad) and the true believers. God is the Guardian of the true believers. 68 Pain would take a party of the people of the Book to lead you astray, and none they lead astray save themselves, and they perceive not. 69 O People given the Book(s)! Why do you disbelieve in the signs of Allah, whereas you yourselves are witnesses? 70 People of the Book! Why do you confound truth with falsehood, and knowingly hide the truth? 71
