The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
All that is in the heavens and earth exalt Allah. He is the Almighty, the Wise. 1 O YOU who have attained to faith! Why do you say one thing and do another? 2 It is most hateful in the sight of Allah that ye say that which ye do not. 3 Truly Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure. 4 And (remember) when Moses said unto his people: O my people! Why persecute ye me, when ye well know that I am Allah's messenger unto you? So when they went astray Allah sent their hearts astray. And Allah guideth not the evil-living folk. 5 And recall what time Isa, son of Maryam, said: children of Israi'l! verily I am Allah's apostle unto you, confirming the Taurat which was before me, and giving the glad tidings of an apostle who cometh after me; his name will be Ahmad. Then when he brought unto them evidences, they said: this is magic manifest. 6 Who is more unjust than he who invents a lie against God when he is called to submit? God does not show the evil-doers the way. 7 They seek to extinguish Allah's light (by blowing) with their mouths, but Allah shall spread His light in all its fullness, howsoever the unbelievers may abhor this. 8 He it is Who sent His Apostle with the guidance and the true religion, that He may make it overcome the religions, all of them, though the polytheists may be averse. 9
