The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify God. He is the Majestic and All-wise. 1 O you who believe, wherefore do you say what you do not? 2 Most loathsome is it in the sight of God that you say what you do not do! 3 Verily, Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in rows (ranks) as if they were a solid structure. 4 And (remember) when Moses said unto his people: O my people! Why persecute ye me, when ye well know that I am Allah's messenger unto you? So when they went astray Allah sent their hearts astray. And Allah guideth not the evil-living folk. 5 And when Jesus, son of Mary, said: "O children of Israel, I am sent to you by God to confirm the Torah (sent) before me, and to give you good tidings of an apostle who will come after me, whose name is Ahmad (the praised one)." Yet when he has come to them with clear proofs, they say: "This is only magic." 6 Who is more unjust than one who creates falsehood against God when he has already been invited to Islam? God does not guide the unjust people. 7 They seek to extinguish the Light of Allah with their mouths; but Allah will complete His Light, much as the unbelievers dislike it. 8 He it is Who hath sent His apostle with the guidance and the true religion, that He may make it triumph over all religion, even though averse may be the associaters. 9
