The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Everything in the heavens and earth glorifies God -- He is the Almighty, the Wise. 1 O you who believe, why do you profess what you do not practise? 2 Most loathsome is it in the sight of God that you say what you do not do! 3 Verily Allah loveth those who fight in His way drown up in ranks, as though they were a structure well compacted. 4 And when Moses, said to his nation: 'Why do you harm me, when you know that I am the Messenger of Allah sent to you' But when they swerved away Allah caused their hearts to swerve. Allah never guides impious people. 5 And call to mind when Jesus, son of Mary, said: “O Children of Israel, I am Allah's Messenger to you, I verify the Torah which has come before me, and I give you the glad tiding of a Messenger who shall come after me, his name being Ahmad.” Yet when he came to them with Clear Signs they said: “This is sheer trickery.” 6 And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah and he is invited to Islam, and Allah does not guide the unjust people. 7 Their intention is to extinguish Allah's Light (by blowing) with their mouths: But Allah will complete (the revelation of) His Light, even though the Unbelievers may detest (it). 8 It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although those who associate others with Allah dislike it. 9
