The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
All that is in the heavens and earth exalt Allah. He is the Almighty, the Wise. 1 O ye who believe! Why say ye that which ye do not? 2 Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do. 3 Verily, God loves [only] those who fight in His cause in [solid] ranks, as though they were a building firm and compact. 4 And recall what time Musa said unto his people: O my people! wherefore hurt ye me, when surely ye know that verily I am Allah's apostle unto you? Then when they swerved, Allah made their hearts swerve; and Allah guideth not a transgressing people. 5 Remember when Jesus, son of Mary, said, "O Children of Israel, I am sent to you by God, confirming the Torah that came before me and bringing good news of a messenger to follow me, whose name will be Ahmad." Yet when he came to them with clear signs, they said, "This is merely sorcery." 6 Who could be more wicked than one who invents lies about God when called to submit to Him? God does not guide the wrongdoers: 7 Fain would they put out the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light however much the disbelievers are averse. 8 He it is Who has sent forth the Messenger with the Guidance and the True Religion that He may make it prevail over all religion, however those that associate aught with Allah in His Divinity might dislike this. 9
