Friday (Al-Jumu'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth declares the glory of Allah, the King, the Holy, the Mighty, the Wise. 1 It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error - 2 and (He has also) sent him to those others who have not yet joined them. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Wise. 3 That is Allah's grace; He grants it to whom He pleases, and Allah is the Lord of mighty grace. 4 The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books]. Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. 5 Say thou: O ye who are Judaised! if ye imagine that ye are the friends of Allah above mankind, then wish for death if ye be truthful. 6 But they will never long for it because of all that their own hands have sent before, and Allah is Aware of evil-doers. 7 Tell them: “The death from which you flee will certainly overtake you. Then you will be returned to Him Who fully knows what is hidden and what is manifest. Thereupon He will let you know all that you used to do.” 8
