Friday (Al-Jumu'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ ALL THAT IS in the heavens and the earth sings the praises of God the King, the Holy, Omnipotent, the Wise. 1 He it is Who hath sent among the unlettered ones a messenger of their own, to recite unto them His revelations and to make them grow, and to teach them the Scripture and wisdom, though heretofore they were indeed in error manifest, 2 and to others also, from among them, who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 3 That is the bounty of Allah, which He gives to whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty. 4 The likeness of those who were loaded with the Torah, but did not carry it, is like that of a donkey carrying books. Evil is the example of the people who have belied the verses of Allah. Allah does not guide the evildoers. 5 Say, "You who are Jews, if you claim that you are favoured by God out of all people, then long for death, if you are truthful." 6 They will never wish for it, because of what their hands have sent forward. God has full knowledge of evil-doers. 7 (Muhammad), tell them, "The death from which you run away will certainly approach you. Then you will be returned to the One who knows the unseen and the seen, and He will tell you what you have done". 8
