Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all things. 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Then repeat thy look twice over, and thy look will return unto thee dim and it will have become wearied out. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them a means to drive away the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the chastisement of Gehenna -- an evil homecoming! 6 When they will be cast into it, they will hear it roar as it boils, 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 So they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 Indeed for those who fear their Lord without seeing is forgiveness, and a great reward. 12 Whether you conceal what you say or reveal it, God knows best all that the hearts contain. 13 Does He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware. 14
