Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Most Auspicious is He in Whose control is the entire kingship; and He is Able to do all things. 1 He created death and life so that He might test you, and find out which of you is best in conduct. He is the Mighty, the Most Forgiving One. 2 [Hallowed be] He who has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another: no fault will thou see in the creation of the Most Gracious. And turn thy vision [upon it] once more: canst thou see any flaw? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 We have decked the lowest heavens with torches. With these torches We have stoned the devils and We have prepared for them the torment of hell. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast into it they will hear it sighing, the while it boils 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'" 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 So they shall confess their sin. Far away they be, the fellows of the Blaze! 11 Indeed for those who fear their Lord without seeing is forgiveness, and a great reward. 12 (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests. 13 Does the One Who is Subtle, All-aware, and Who created all things not know all about them? 14
