Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Most Auspicious is He in Whose control is the entire kingship; and He is Able to do all things. 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 And indeed We have beautified the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them weapons against the devils, and have kept prepared for them the punishment of the blazing fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth. 7 as though it will burst with rage. Every time a multitude is cast into it, its keepers will ask them: “Did no warner come to you?” 8 They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error. 9 They will say: "If we had listened and been wise, we would not have been among the inmates of Hell." 10 They will then confess their sins: but far will be (Forgiveness) from the Companions of the Blazing Fire! 11 [As against this,] behold, for those who stand in awe of God although He is beyond the reach of their perception, there is forgiveness in store and a great reward. 12 AND [know, O men, that] whether you keep your beliefs secret or state them openly, He has full knowledge indeed of all that is in [your] hearts. 13 Shall He who has created (all things) not know? He is the Subtle, the Aware. 14
