Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is the Kingdom: He has power over all things; 1 Who created death and life that He might try you as to which of you is better in deed. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving; 2 who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! 3 Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim. 4 And assuredly We have bedecked the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for satans: and for them We have gotten ready the torment of the Blaze. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord, is the punishment of hell; and what a wretched outcome! 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear its roaring as it boils up, 7 Well-nigh it bursteth with rage. So oft as a company is cast thereinto, the keepers thereof will ask them: came there not unto you a warner? 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze." 10 So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. 11 But those who fear their Lord in the Unseen, for them there is forgiveness and a great wage. 12 And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). 13 Shall not He who hath created know? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
