Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent - 1 He who has created death as well as life, so that He might put you to a test [and thus show] which of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that] He alone is almighty, truly forgiving. 2 Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder? 3 Then look again and again. Your gaze will come back to you confused and exhausted. 4 We have decked the lowest heavens with torches. With these torches We have stoned the devils and We have prepared for them the torment of hell. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end! 6 When they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up, 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error. 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. 11 Indeed for those who fear their Lord without seeing is forgiveness, and a great reward. 12 Whether you conceal what you say or reveal it, God knows best all that the hearts contain. 13 Does He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware. 14
