Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent - 1 He created death and life so that He might test you, and find out which of you is best in conduct. He is the Mighty, the Most Forgiving One. 2 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 We have adorned the lowest sky with lamps, and made them missiles against the devils, for whom We have prepared a torment of most intense fire. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord, is the punishment of hell; and what a wretched outcome! 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 Well-nigh it bursteth with rage. So oft as a company is cast thereinto, the keepers thereof will ask them: came there not unto you a warner? 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: 'Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.'" 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 So it is that they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 Surely forgiveness and a mighty reward await those who fear Allah without seeing Him. 12 (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests. 13 Shall not He who hath created know? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
