Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. 1 Who created death and life that He may try you-- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 He created seven heavens one above the other in layers. You will not find any flaw in the creation of the Gracious One. Then look once again: can you see any flaw? 3 Then lift your gaze again, your gaze will return towards you, unsuccessful and weak. 4 And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame 5 For those who reject their Lord (and Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such), Destination. 6 They will hear it hissing when they will be thrown into it, and it is boiling. 7 As it would burst with rage. Whenever a (fresh) host is flung therein the wardens thereof ask them: Came there unto you no warner? 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 They will say, "If we had only listened or understood, we should not now be among the inmates of Hell," 10 and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. 11 Indeed for those who fear their Lord without seeing is forgiveness, and a great reward. 12 Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
