Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all things. 1 who created death and life that He might examine which of you is best in deeds, and He is the Almighty, the Forgiving, 2 Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts? 3 Then turn back the eye again and again; your look shall come back to you confused while it is fatigued. 4 And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end! 6 When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up. 7 As though it would burst with fury. Every time a crowd is thrown into it, its wardens will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say: “Yes, a warner came to us, but we gave the lie to him and said: 'Allah has revealed nothing. You are surely in huge error.' 9 And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!" 10 They will then confess their sins: but far will be (Forgiveness) from the Companions of the Blazing Fire! 11 Lo! those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward. 12 Whether you conceal what you say or reveal it, God knows best all that the hearts contain. 13 Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves) All-Aware (of everything). 14
