And recall what time thine Lord said unto the angels: verily I am going to place a vicegerent on the earth. They said: wilt Thou place therein one who will act corruptly therein and shed blood while we hallow Thine praise and glorify Thee! Allah said: verily I know that which ye know not. 30 And He taught Adam the names - all of them. Then He showed them to the angels and said, "Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful." 31 They said, "Glory be to You; we have no knowledge except whatever You have taught us. You are the All Knowing, the All Wise." 32 He said, "O Adam, inform them of their names." And when he had informed them of their names, He said, "Did I not tell you that I know the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth? And I know what you reveal and what you have concealed." 33 And recall what time We said unto the angels: prostrate yourselves before Adam, they prostrated themselves, but not Iblis; he refused and was stiff-necked and became of the infidels. 34 And We said: "O Adam, dwell thou and thy wife in this garden, and eat freely thereof, both of you, whatever you may wish; but do not approach this one tree, lest you become wrongdoers." 35 After a time Satan tempted them with that tree to disobey Our Command and brought them out of the state they were in, and We decreed, "Now, go down all of you from here; you are enemies of one another. Henceforth you shall dwell and provide for yourselves on the Earth for a specified period." 36 Thereafter Adam received certain words from his Lord, and He turned towards him; truly He turns, and is All-compassionate. 37 We said, 'Get you down out of it, all together; yet there shall come to you guidance from Me, and whosoever follows My guidance, no fear shall be on them, neither shall they sorrow. 38 And those who disbelieve and deny Our signs - those will be companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally." 39

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
