And when Allah made a covenant through the prophets: Certainly what I have given you of Book and wisdom-- then an apostle comes to you verifying that which is with you, you must believe in him, and you must aid him. He said: Do you affirm and accept My compact in this (matter)? They said: We do affirm. He said: Then bear witness, and I (too) am of the bearers of witness with you. 81 After this, whoever turns away will be of the evil-doers. 82 So is it other than the religion of Allah they desire, while to Him have submitted [all] those within the heavens and earth, willingly or by compulsion, and to Him they will be returned? 83 Say (O Muhammad): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and that which was vouchsafed unto Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered. 84 He who chooses a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Everlasting Life he will be among the losers. 85 How shall Allah guide a people who lapse into disbelief after they believed and bore witness that the Messenger is true, and after receiving clear proofs! Allah does not guide the harmdoers. 86 Their requital shall be rejection by God, and by the angels, and by all [righteous] men. 87 Thus shall they abide. Neither shall their chastisement be granted nor shall they be granted any respite. 88 Except those who afterwards repent and mend their ways, Allah is Forgiving and the Most Merciful. 89 Indeed those who disbelieve after they have believed and increase in disbelief, their repentance shall not be accepted. These are those who are astray. 90 From those who deny and die disbelieving will never be accepted an earthful of gold if proferred by them as ransom. For them is grievous punishment, and none will help them. 91
