Surely those who guard (against evil) shall have with their Lord gardens of bliss. 34 or should We, perchance, treat those who surrender themselves unto Us as [We would treat] those who remain lost in sin? 35 What aileth you? How ill ye judge! 36 Or have you a Book through which you learn. 37 That you have surely therein what you choose? 38 Or have you received from Us an agreement confirmed by an oath extending to the day of resurrection that you shall surely have what you demand? 39 Ask thou of them, which of them will stand surety for that! 40 Or have they other partners [besides God]? Let them bring forth their other partners, if what they say be true. 41 On the day when it befalleth in earnest, and they are ordered to prostrate themselves but are not able, 42 Their eyes will be cast down,- ignominy will cover them; seeing that they had been summoned aforetime to bow in adoration, while they were whole, (and had refused). 43 So leave Me and him who rejects this announcement; We will overtake them by degrees, from whence they perceive not: 44 for, behold, though I may give them rein for a while, My subtle scheme is exceedingly firm! 45 Or, do you ask them for a wage, so that they are burdened with debt? 46 Or have they (the knowledge of) the unseen, so that they write (it) down? 47 So wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, and be not like the companion of the fish, when he cried while he was in distress. 48 Had his Lord's grace not been bestowed upon him, he would have been cast away in disgrace upon that desolate shore. 49 But his Lord had chosen him, and He placed him among the righteous. 50 Hence, [be patient,] even though they who are bent on denying the truth would all but kill thee with their eyes whenever they hear this reminder, and [though] they say: "[As for Muhammad,] behold, most surely he is a madman!" 51 And it is naught but a reminder to the nations. 52
