Al-Qalam 2 of 2
Surely those who guard (against evil) shall have with their Lord gardens of bliss. 34 or should We, perchance, treat those who surrender themselves unto Us as [We would treat] those who remain lost in sin? 35 What is the matter with you? How ill do you judge! 36 Or have ye a scripture wherein ye learn 37 and in which you find all that you may wish to find? 38 Do you have a covenant with Us which allows you to do whatever you want until the Day of Judgment? 39 Ask thou of them, which of them will stand surety for that! 40 Or is it that they have partners in worship? So they should bring their appointed partners, if they are truthful. 41 (Remember) the Day when the Shin shall be laid bare (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) and they shall be called to prostrate (to Allah), but they (hypocrites) shall not be able to do so, 42 Downcast will be their looks; abjectness will overspread them. Surely they had been called upon to prostrate themselves while yet they were whole. 43 So leave Me, (O Prophet), to deal with him who gives the lie to this Discourse. We shall draw them little by little (to their undoing) in a way that they will not know. 44 I shall give them respite, however, My plan is so strong that they will never be able to escape from it. 45 Askest thou a hire from them so that they are laden with debt? 46 Or have they (the knowledge of) the unseen, so that they write (it) down? 47 But wait thou for thy Lord's decree, and be not like him of the fish, who cried out in despair. 48 Had not Grace from his Lord reached him, he would indeed have been cast off on the naked shore, in disgrace. 49 But his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous. 50 Hence, [be patient,] even though they who are bent on denying the truth would all but kill thee with their eyes whenever they hear this reminder, and [though] they say: "[As for Muhammad,] behold, most surely he is a madman!" 51 And it is naught but a reminder to the nations. 52

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
