Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 and had not known my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
