Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a lofty Garden 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 and had not known my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 and no food except pus 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
