Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 and had not known my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
