Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a lofty garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 I am bereft of power." 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
