Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 in a high Garden, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
