Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in a high Garden, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
