Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In high empyrean 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
